Ann Turkel

Presently, the actress and former cover model lives in Beverly Hills with her dogs Samantha and Olivia (above left). They were together for just eight years, and divorced for 20, but Ann Turkel is still struggling to accept the loss of her ex-husband, Richard Harris. Born into a Jewish middle class family, and grew up in Manhattan, Turkel had, by age 16, studied alongside Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse, and Philip Burton at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Ann's appearance as a member of her band at a fashion event was the moment Gloria Schiff, editor of Vogue Magazine, discovered Ann. Diana Vreeland ordered Ann to perform her first Vogue photograph shoot with Richard Avedon within one week. Ann went onto become one of the most sought-after models ever, and her work was featured in top fashion magazines Vogue Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. Ann began modeling in Europe and Japan in the fashion houses of Max Factor Revlon as well as Chanel after two consecutive years of successful modeling.
